Short bio

Besides his research activity András has gained his professional experience first at Mécs/Csákay Law Office as a junior associate (2009). From 2011 András worked for the Ministry of National Economics as an EU counsellor. András joined to the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) in 2013 where he is currently working as a case handler at the Merger Section. András obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2013 (summa cum laude). András is an assistant professor at the Department of European Law (PPCU) since 2015.

András Pünkösty graduated at the Pázmány Peter Catholic University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences in 2006. András commenced his doctoral research at the PPCU’s doctoral program in 2007 and has been a lecturer in various areas of EU law since 2009. András obtained a “Diploma in an Introduction to the English law and the law of European Union” issued by University of Cambridge in 2009. Besides his research, he has gained his professional experience first at Mécs/Csákay Law Office as a junior associate dealing with corporate law, contracts and competition law. From 2011 András worked for the Ministry of National Economics as an EU counsellor at the Department of International and EU Affairs. In 2013 András joined to the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) where he is currently working as a case handler at the Merger Section. András obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2013 (summa cum laude), with the thesis titled “Several ethical considerations on the European Union law - a critical evaluation with special regard to the social doctrine of the Church”. András is an assistant professor at the Department of European Law (PPCU) since 2015. András is a member of the International Federation for European Law (FIDE) and the Competition Law Research Centre at PPCU.
