Memorandum of Understanding

2025.02.26.

The University of Santo Tomas has formalised its relationship with Peter Pazmany Catholic University (PPKE) in a Memorandum of Understanding.

The partnership between the two universities will pave the way for academic and research cooperation through the exchange of academic and administrative staff to promote joint activities, exchange of information, and mutual understanding.

As a first step of the collaboration, on 29 November 2024, the two universities held an online workshop on copyright law entitled "Copyright in the Age of Social Media and AI", with the participation of academics from UST Graduate School of Law (GS Law) and PPKE. The speakers were Mr. Allan B. Gepty, a member of GS Law Faculty and Anett Pogacsas and Dávid Ujhelyi, professors of PPKE Law Faculty. The workshop was followed by a discussion.

In spring 2025, UST researchers and students will participate in a workshop organised by PPCU, further strengthening the relationship.

The University of Santo Tomas is one of the oldest universities in Asia. As a catholic university, its mission is to find not only intellectual but also academic links with catholic partners around the world. When the University of Santo Tomas approached PPKE for collaboration, we were delighted to accept.
